Thailand combination Bangkok and beach
This was my second time in Bangkok , and this time I left with very mixed impressions. To put it simply: Bangkok is not the "real Thailand." There are often blatant attempts to do business, the people are quite unfriendly, and the true Thai charm has been lost. The low point was definitely when several taxi drivers simply refused a ride from Dusit to Satong (about 10 km) and drove on.
3 days in Bangkok: What is there to experience (please also see the tour itinerary )
Mahanakhon Tower (half-day tour) : Great views and a thrill on the glass balcony. A good short trip on your arrival or departure day, and depending on time, it can be combined with Wat Keo Jam Fa, Wat U Phai Rat Bamrung, and Wat Traimit. https://www.komoot.de/tour/103283004
Grand Palace (Day Trip): Definitely visit Wat Pho (Reclining Buddha), the Grand Palace, and Wat Phra Kaew (Emerald Buddha) as a day trip, and spend the evening on Khao San Road. This is the classic sightseeing tour.
The Royal Palace, also known as the Grand Palace, is one of the most beautiful palace complexes in the world. It contains many different temples, and you should plan to spend two to three hours there. Please note that strict dress codes apply. Wat Pho Temple is located directly south of the Royal Palace, with the reclining Buddha as its main attraction. While not the largest reclining Buddha in Thailand, it is certainly the most famous. Its dimensions are impressive: 46 meters long, 15 meters high, and completely gilded.
Wat Arun (day tour): Also available as a day tour with a beautiful, quiet tour through lesser-known monasteries Wat Hong Rattanaram Ratchaworawihan (beautiful temple room in red tones (picture center)), Wat Prayurawongsawat Worawihan and Wat Kalayanamitr (picture right).
Khlong Boat Trip: Bangkok is crisscrossed by canals, known as khlongs, which still serve as transport routes today. The best way to explore Bangkok from the water is with a guided tour. From here, the city reveals itself with its simply constructed huts along the banks, contrasting sharply with the modern skyscrapers in the background.

This time we opted for a beach holiday in Khao Lak (during our tour we stayed in Hua Hin), as this region isn't quite as crowded and still offers wonderfully quiet stretches of beach. Nevertheless, Khao Lak is perfectly developed for tourism and offers everything a Thai holiday should have: magnificent sandy beaches, azure waters, guaranteed sunshine, and, unlike Bangkok, that typical Thai hospitality.
12 Tage Khao Lak.
